You’ll be joining a collaborative and supportive team environment that are committed to growth and high-quality delivery!

Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, you will be assisting the day-to-day implementation of health and safety policies and procedures on project/s. Your main purpose will be to help everyone on the sites to go home safe every day.

The successful applicant will be required to perform the following duties:

  • Complete the administration and implementation of the Health, Safety and Environmental Plan (HSE).
  • Conduct site inductions.
  • Review subcontractor Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) to ensure they are high quality and meet Buildcorp requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety inspection walks inc. engaging with workers.
  • Ensure site compliance with the HSE management plan, legislation, regulations, standards and codes.
  • Present on site safety training to build HSE competency and compliance.
  • Guide and influence project sites regarding HSE requirements and procedures.
  • Participate in Pre-Start talks and/or Toolbox Talks prior to complex high-risk work.
  • Perform ‘stop work’ instructions if the high-risk work becomes too dangerous and then help reassess the work before safely commencing the work again.
  • Respond to HSE issues such as serious accident investigation and subcontractor control issues, escalating where required.
  • Complete HSE reports.
  • Report areas of improvement to site processes and practices regarding HSE issues.
  • Conduct High-Risk Workshops with work groups and key stakeholders.
  • Participate and manage third partying auditing.

Education / Experience

  • Construction background with suitable experience
  • Construction Safety Induction (white) card
  • Occupational First Aid certificate
  • Cert IV in OHS/WHS
