Job Description
The Opportunity:
We have a great opportunity for a commercially astute Contract Manager to deliver safe, high quality and profitable construction projects with the management and administration of contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
The successful applicant will be required to perform the following duties:
Subcontractor Management - Deep understanding of, and the ability to manage, all facets of the subcontract process
Contract Risk Management - Proficient in all contractual matters and the ability to communicate this knowledge in a practical and meaningful way to the project team.
Operational Excellence – Understands and complies with Buildcorp business systems, administer projects ensuring accuracy of records and timely communications of all project details.
Financial Performance - Develop Jobpac skills to assist project manager with project financial reporting and analysis.
Project Management - Developing an understanding and working knowledge of project planning and programming using ASTA
Management Development - Train, mentor and coach contracts administrators and any other new staff in administration duties and systems, coordinate their activities to develop them, and to deliver project outcomes
Ensure Safety & compliance on all projects
Desired Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will have:
Solid knowledge of subcontract tendering, standards, procedures and the competitive market
Able to manage & mentor a team
Able to lead the financials and work autonomously
Proficient in Jobpac
Proficient in web-based collaboration software (iTWOcx)
Developing knowledge of ASTA to plan and track projects
Determine/identify key client and builder obligations
Understand the overall construction programme and plan accordingly for activities
Ability to identify and control of construction risk
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good negotiation skills
Ideal candidate will possess the below:
Construction or engineering degree or a building related qualification with additional experience to equate to degree advantageous
4 years+ experience in the construction industry
First Aid certificate
Construction Safety Induction (white) card
