Job Description

 

About the role

 

Reporting to the HSE Manager, you will lead the implementation of HSE systems and processes on project(s), influencing behaviours and supporting teams to achieve outstanding safety outcomes. You’ll be hands-on, proactive, and confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, from site teams to subcontractors and regulators.

 

  • Proactively improving health and safety standards on site
  • Administering and implementing the HSE Plan daily on site
  • Reviewing subcontractor Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) for quality and compliance
  • Conducting regular safety inspections
  • Ensuring site compliance with HSE management plans, legislation, regulations, standards, and codes
  • Delivering onsite safety training to build HSE competency and compliance
  • Responding to HSE issues, including serious incident investigations or subcontractor control matters
  • Identifying potential HSE risks and assisting in developing solutions

 

About you

 

You’re a confident safety professional who can influence, collaborate and lead by example. You’re practical, solutions-focused, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced construction environment.

 

  • Certificate IV in OHS
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a construction HSE role
  • Experience in commercial construction, including new build and/or refurbishment projects
  • Working knowledge of State WHS legislation
  • Ability to apply policies and procedures that meet legislative HSE requirements
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to build trust and networks with onsite teams
  • Excellent communication skills
