The Opportunity
As Design Coordinator, you will coordinate and manage design documentation across the project lifecycle, working closely with consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams. You will provide technical advice and ensure design outcomes support program, cost, quality and safety objectives while aligning with Buildcorp’s standards and values.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Support the appointment of design consultants, including assessment of submissions and administration of professional services and novation agreements
Coordinate and manage the production, review and issue of drawings, specifications and construction documentation
Work with consultants to develop compliant, buildable and value-driven design solutions that meet project scope, safety-in-design requirements and building codes
Encourage innovative and cost-effective design options, including value engineering initiatives
Coordinate design milestones and track design completion metrics, identifying and escalating technical risks that may impact buildability, safety, procurement, cost or program
Contribute to project planning, sequencing and coordination activities, understanding design impacts on construction delivery
Support authority and utility approvals, including Town Planning, Building Permit and Occupancy Certification documentation across the project lifecycle
Identify and proactively manage design-related risks and opportunities to enhance project efficiencies, safety, quality and commercial outcomes
Collaborate with subcontractors and consultants to ensure documentation meets client requirements, approval conditions and budget constraints
Management of ESD (Environmentally Sustainable Design), understand the requirements of ‘Green’ design such as collation, review and tracking and management of Green Star deliverables.

You are a technically capable, well-organised professional who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and enjoys working as part of a collaborative project team.
You will bring:
Proven experience in design or engineering roles primarily within commercial construction projects
Strong understanding of Building Codes, design standards and contractual requirements
Knowledge of Green Star and NABERS certification frameworks
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and build trusted working relationships
Well-developed analytical, planning and decision-making skills
A proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Architecture, Design or a related discipline
