Job Description

The Opportunity

As a Project Engineer, you’ll take ownership of complex fit out projects from inception to handover. Your key responsibilities include: 

  • Engage with the procurement process by developing scopes of works and providing information to support the assessment of variations and claims.
  • With the Design Manager, provide input into construction methodology reviews and recommend changes that increase construction efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Management of all design and construction coordination issues, working with design consultants to confirm the design documentation.
  • Consider design options, engineering solutions and value for money initiatives.
  • Prepare construction plans and programs and monitor construction progress for the area of work against program and budget and report any issues,
  • Identify and mitigate construction risk, communicate the project program to the team and identify key milestones for supervisors to support short range programs.
  • Identify and manage construction risk for areas of the project, escalating issues to the Senior Project Engineer when required.
  • Understand and comply with the sustainability objectives and requirements for the project e.g.  NABERS/ Green Star.
  • Engage with Supervisors to understand the logistics and program requirements for the project including include work sequences, site establishment, inspections, and subcontractor plans for their areas of work.
  • Support the project handover by contributing to the project completion plan, proactively managing defect identification and rectification with subcontractors and respond to client requests for information.

About you

  • Proven experience in a similar role within construction
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence stakeholders
  • Relevant qualifications in construction management, engineering, or related discipline
