Job Description

The Opportunity:

As we continue our journey of positive growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to play a key role in the design and delivery of major new build projects across the Sydney region. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with the procurement process by developing scopes of works and providing information to support the assessment of variations and claims.
  • Management of all design and construction coordination issues, working with design consultants to confirm the design documentation.
  • Provide input into constructability reviews for the design and identifying value engineering opportunities for clients in the work being undertaken.
  • Lead and manage the construction management delivery, including planning, scheduling, and on site management.
  • Proactively engage with the project team, contractors, consultants and the client to ensure timely completion of project milestones.
  • Monitor project progress for agreed packages or areas of work, identifying and addressing any issues or risks that may arise.
  • Oversee the management of quality control measures to ensure issues are identified early and are managed quickly.
  • Engage with subcontractors to provide feedback on progress and gain engagement with achieving project goals and milestones, motivating them to provide insights into improved construction approaches to save time and reduce costs.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the project team, ensuring that all construction activities are carried out efficiently and effectively.
  • Identify and mitigate construction risk, communicate the project program to the team and identify key milestones for supervisors to support short range programs.
  • Develop junior staff through delegation of tasks and monitoring work quality and providing positive and constructive feedback.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer within the commercial construction sector.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage diverse teams.
  • Solid understanding of subcontractor markets and construction methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects safely, on schedule, and to specification.
